Welcome to the ISTQB CT-GenAI Certification Guide

Prepare for your "Testing with Generative AI" certification either by reading the 70 pages of the official syllabus, or by browsing this simpler guide, or by reading both (why not?).

This site is a condensed, illustrated, interactive, and free course on using generative AI in testing. It is designed for testing and software quality (QA) professionals.

🎯 Why this course?

The official syllabus is dense. Very dense.
By providing you with this guide, I simplify every concept (LLM, Prompting, RAG, Risks...) to help you:
1. Truly understand how Generative AI works.
2. Validate the learning objectives of the syllabus.
3. Pass your certification on the first try.

πŸ₯‘ The red thread: "MagicFridge"

To make the abstract concepts of generative AI concrete, we will immerse ourselves in the behind-the-scenes of a fictional, yet very realistic company: MagicFridge.

MagicFridge is an innovative FoodTech start-up. Its mobile app promises to revolutionize users' daily lives by managing their groceries and meals.

It is not just a simple digital shopping list; it is an application that integrates a generative artificial intelligence named GUS (Guide for Universal Savors).

GUS is capable of:

  • Scanning products (computer vision).
  • Inventing personalized recipes (text generation).
  • Interacting with users via a chatbot.

We will illustrate every point of the syllabus through the testing challenges of this application.
